As a part-time scanlator staff and patron and promoter of Batoto, I can't help but voice my annoyances over the crackle.com ads. As a patron I disable my ad blocking software to help generate revenue for the site, and there are in fact some interesting ones i click on. However, every time the crackle.com ad rotates in it takes over my browser, redirects me to their page, starts playing an arse-load of media content i frankly wasn't looking for and makes it a pain in the ass to press the 'back' button enough times to get back to what i was reading. I know this site's stability comes from revenue generated from these ads but this sort of behavior borders on malicious and detracts from people's experience of the place. As it stands I worry that people i recommend this site too will encounter the same 'experience' issue and be dissuaded from future visits.
Can we do something about the crackle.com ads?

We are aware of the issue and are attempting to stop it.
Thanks for your report and concern.
I'm going to move this thread to Batoto Support, because this isn't really a discussion thread.

A fairly new, but frequent user on this site, I also have a gripe about the Crackle.com ads. Quite frequently, when I attempt to advance a page, either by mouse click or right arrow button, the new page is a Crackle ad, and I have to go back to the previous page and then advance again. While this is definitely not a show stopper, and won't make me change to a site with super annoying, in-your-face animated adds containing music (?) and dialogue that nearly blow out my subwoofer, it is annoying. Kind of like reading one of those paperbacks that have stiff advertising cards glued randomly into the pages. It definitely breaks the flow of the reading.
I don't mean to start criticizing this site barely a week after becoming a member. I was directed here by posts on other sites and recommendations on scanlator's comment pages, and it has become my #1 reading site for manga. Thanks for all your hard work and for resisting the temptation to turn it into a money-making cow.

Trebor and other involved administrators,
Thank you for addressing the problem. I haven't had anything annoying take over my screen for over a week. It is greatly appreciated.
