for example look at Red-Hawk-Scans, they received a C&D already for Bakuman and Beelzebub.


yeah, but Red-Hawk-Scans are just ignoring it, thats the problem.

You cant be more wrong my little Potato spurt, They stopped hosting it on their servers, which was as requested.
They didnt ask them to stop scanlating them for other servers tho.

I hope you know, that what they are doing isn´t benefiting anyone of us, I mean who really read their scans on their site? yeah, exactly 1-2 persons (admin and the co-admin xD).

Too be honest, we put Watermarks in the Mangas/manwhas for reasons.
Though we say its so they respect our wishes, but actually, We are trying to get people to buy the original copies.
Since once an author has had it or an company, they might cancel or license the manga/manwha.

well, that's a reason. and a good one too
thinking about it, the only watermarks i don't like are the ones that certain manga readers put on the images, as if it were their property
i too hope that people will buy the original of their favorites at least, and if watermarks could convince them to do that...

Good point there.I think with watermarks,readers would feel convinced to buy their favorite manga/manhwa.
But for people who are too used to get a stuff that they want for free,it is hard to convince them,and all they know is to rant,rant and rant on watermarks :/

And on top of that, they are even asking for donations? God, know your place people. Stuff will still be readable on Mangafox even without Scanlators! No one needs to spend a cent nor lift a finger!

Personally I feel like humans themselves, will only stop when they are forced to... meaning that teens will simply ignore anything that would limit them... until they encounter a different opinion, in let's say their parents to take an example. Or they simply realize when something is not possible anymore... for example it's not possible to get English free scanlations without scanlator groups... and then we tend to adapt to the crowd we end up with... and since many end up at manga fox with an atmosphere of we want more...

but It's not really that simple either... blah I'm tired night...

Topic: Batoto taking action against watermarks
Response: Such action may carry unwanted repercussions.

Everything else that's off topic: What scanlators should do.... and the arguments around it.
Since on topic posts are limited to 1st page... I'll just close.

Small summary:
/a/ has requests for scanlators (Batoto is not a scanlator) to reduce or remove watermarks.
People are grumpy about watermarks because they're ugly.
Argues that scanlators are hypocritical as they want control... but arguing fans are also hypocritical as they're whining that scanlators shouldn't whine.
