Through many years I have traversed with many a story passing through my eyes. A while ago I decided to take upon myself to hone my story weaving skills. This challenge was to write not that which I wanted to, but that which was chosen. So I propose to you all a challenge of sorts, join me in my endeavor and submit your own version.

For Those unfamiliar with Forum code here's a brief example.
All coding for this site use brackets Like these: []
Then the coding value is placed within. [xxxxxx] text
Coding values are what you want done: Ex Strike, Spoiler, Quote(Special rules)
This starts the coding. To end the coding type the same code again. [xxxxxx] text [xxxxxx]
To end the coding one must use a back slash before the coding value. [xxxxxx] text [/xxxxxx]
Hope this helps

Challenge #1
This first challenge will be a simplistic one. The time of year is winter, a character becomes misunderstood, a character looses something, there must be at least 2 characters, and there must be a box in the story.

Challenge #2
The second Challenge will be a bit out there. The location is space, a character learns something a character gets stuck. There must be a hampster in the story.

For the sake of space and reading time attempt to limit yourself to a MAXIMUM of 5 paragraphs w/ 5-10 sentances. Diologue counts as a paragraph if it takes up more than 10 lines. Use the spoiler coding as well to limit streching if the forum. Who wants to scroll through 5 miles of text anyway?

...genius idea... using spoiler... I have some edits to make. Btw good show. Very interesting story.
The reason there preffered short is because its more of a short story prompt not a novel. You did very well

P.S. ...ill get around to posting my story this week. Busy studying for midterms and such...

Well, here is my attempt...It was a random idea of mine...I really need to practice writing something that is chosen and not just what I want to because this small story came off pretty weird. Anyway, it's a great challenge! Fenrir: Awesome idea! :D

For me to say I'm a good writer would be too far of a stretch. For me to say I enjoy writing would be a statement that nears 100% accuracy.

I'm not sure whether this story has any actual consistency or not, I just kinda wrote... but I'm open to lots and lots of criticism.

Doc Sniff, prestigious butler of LPosted Imagerd Korean. When it comes to Butlers, I think you'll find that I'm simply the best there is... If I typed like this and didn't use the brackets, I wonder if anyone would actually see it. I could be insulting you and saying that you're smelly, and you wouldn't know the difference... would you?

I wrote this before reading any of the other stories here, so apologies in advance if it's somehow similar to any of the others. (I did it this way to not unconsciously steal inspiration from someone else's story after having read it.)

I thought I'd rise to the challenge, entry for number 2! However, I have no idea how to make the spoiler thing :s so if you tell me how, I'll edit this post immediately. I just made this on the spot in 5 minutes, so there might be some errors... but I like it :)

Edit: Thanks Xbox User for how to put spoilers :D

"He also let me know that clocks are still the in thing. That’s reassuring to me, as I was worried the fashion might have changed while I was gone. But no, he continues to point whenever he sees one, announcing to everyone who cares to listen that there is a clock. I agree to this as well, even if that particular clock happens to be, say, a thermometer.

There is an art to conversation, you see, and part of that art is the ability to occasionally let a trifling difference of opinion slide by without making a federal case out of it.

So he says, “Clock,” and I think, Okay. Fair enough. I see your point.

“Clock,” I agree."
Pat Rothfuss, about his (very young) son.
