Because 1 in 4 people have an eye problem according to something I read once xD

And added to that those who read a lot also end up with worse eyes (curse the cruelty of the world! xD)

Haha can't figure out how the poll works :-C

edit: added a few extra choices~

I'm far-sighted, small in-born defect apparently (i see better things that are far away, rather than things that are 10 centimeters in front of me) it's pretty rare >.>. I use glasses only when i'm spending alot of time using my pc, else my eyes get tired.

I have glasses, but I only need them to read. I can see just fine without them.

Is this some kind of Megane-club? XD
Then, count me in. I'm near-sighthed, I can't see anything unless I wear glasses. I don't wear contacts, since the make my eyes hurt. I wear glasses since... I don't know. Ever since I remember, I already wear them. Might be since I was in grade school.
Well, as a child I always spent my time reading books, that might be the reason.

Were you born near-sighted or did you just develop it early?

I've been wearing glasses since I was 7.

I'm almost completely helpless without them. Since years I try to wear contacts, but it seems it just not something made for me... Dry eyes, pain, irritations and what not... So I always wear my glasses.

I think I just develop it early. I remember before learning to read I didn't wear them. But after I could read, I just couldn't stop reading... I read anything anytime, especially while lying on bed. Bad position to read XD

I have glasses, but I primarily use them when I'm driving. I'm a little nearsighted, but I do fine without them really.

My father had an awful eye problem, though, and it was different for each eye. He wanted contact lenses, but back in the days, the lenses available weren't strong enough to correct his vision problem so he had to stick with glasses...I've tried his work glasses and they're awful :P Almost made me fall down the stairs at home.

Reading or spending too much time in front of a screen doesn't really have anything to do with nearsightedness. (Edit: Unless you're reading with insufficient light, of course.)

It's more about not getting enough natural light.

I'm near-sighted, but I have astigmatism, so wearing contacts is bothersome. I'm also very light sensitive, and often wear sun-glasses with corrective lenses.

I've been told to wear glasses as a kid to "fix" my sight but I hated it so much I jumped on it, so my mother gave up thinking I'd change my mind when I'd realize I needed them.
I've never wore glasses since then. I just can't see much from far ~

Yeah i'd like to know about that as well, using my bad sight as an excuse to change my eyes colour could be fun~

Not really. After a while you're trained and they get in and out in a few seconds.

I have astigmatism too, so they kind really cover all my bad sight.
