    Fingerling Potato

Please use this thread to share your thoughts on the chapters.

A big mystery in the manga is Albert's heritage. It's too fishy that he looks identical to Alexia, the country's crown princess. Especially chapter 6 sheds some light on this: if twins are born from which one is a boy, it'll bring a catastrophe (and he'll be executed). But even before that, it is implied that princes are disposed of, since they are useless.

So it makes sense that he's in fact Alexia's brother, but how will that influence the story (if it is true)? The current queen, Laetitia, seems to be an ice queen, but her last words (kinda ..) hint that she's not like she'd like to be (seen as).
If he's really Alexia's brother: I thought she'd be too cold to care about her child, but perhaps she's just lamenting the fact that she couldn't save her son.

Your thoughts?

Dun dun dun dun! I swear I've fallen in love with this series and will continue to do so.
Thank you Hachimitsu scans! Keep on rolling~

I think he would be better suited to the era. The time of revolution has a proper foundation by Albert's and Alexia's generation. Alexia is noble and grew up facing threats, but I get the impression that she was sheltered away from the cunning and intrigue of the court (aside from humiliation and assassination tactics which Guy would protect her from). She would struggle to rule.

Albert on the other hand, is mischievous, naughty and flexible. He adapts fast and is a boy (making it easy to sympathize and understand the rebellion). Right now, he is the most suitable leader for a nation embarking on a revolution.

For me, I feel that Laetitia has grown hardened to the political intrigue and was trying to protect Alexia from stepping into it too early. She also wanted Alexia to be able to fend for herself and her presence with Alexia will only heighten the chances of Alexia getting hurt so she couldn't care about her too much. She had to think of a way to maintain the throne for Alexia and her rule (to protect the queendom and people from dying in unnecessary war). That was why she was so concerned about Alexia's capability to have children as children are literal symbols of contract of alliance between countries which she believed Alexia will need. Because times of war is imminent. I believe, at that time, her health was already deteriorating which would make bearing a child difficult and even put her life and rule at stake. That is why she was so concerned. The weight of her people on her shoulders made her cold.

P.S. Albert looks so cute grown up! Reminds me of Maria Holic. I know not everyone likes shounen-ai/yaoi but I wish it would go in that direction! hehehe!

It seems a bit Yaoi/Shounen Ai-ish and I don't like that genre but grrr this series is too good to drop just cause of that. On topic why why did she have to die.

Yeah I just so shocked. This manga the main character doesn't just die.

Will we know she not died though...remember the first page of this story. They all want to kill the princess. They are both there in a crisis.
So she alive but how.

It would be perfect if he could hook up with a prince who's a girl-who-looks-like-a-boy, but my manga-radar says that's not going to happen.

I'm anticipating that Theo's come to steal him back? That should be interesting.

So now we've got the overthrow of the government......and Albert stands just as good a chance of execution as anything else. Pirate rescue?

Well, I still think that's what's probably going to happen too, even though in this latest chapter it looks like "Alexia and the Pirates" are at least going to make some effort right now to quell the rebellion......or maybe just rescue Guy. And it looks like the "Alexia" and not "Albert" persona is going to have to stay.....at least for the general public.

Ahh, what a cliff hanger to end it on, looks like we'll have to wait to find out what happens from here. Oh well, come on volume 3!!
