Lol, I love visual novels almost as much as anime and manga.

I've played a fair amount, but my all time favorite is G-Senjou no Maou. The story is just fantastic.
So much so, that I wish they would have made an anime adaptation for it...but you know...one that doesn't completely suck.

Majikoi is also very nice. Hilarious comedy, for one thing.

And as far as non-erotic visual novels go, I like Sakevisual's Jisei and Kansei.
They are quite short -- possibly only a few hours each, but pretty interesting.

I'm also a mystery nut, so I really enjoyed those two games, as well as Kara no Shoujo...but that VN is not for the squeamish or the faint of heart...seriously.

Yeah, G Senjou no Maou is my second favourite after Fate/Stay Night ^^

Before I reached the Usami route, I went with the other 3 routes first, they were pretty good, my second favourite route apart from Usami route was Mizuki route, but when I had read Usami route, it just blasted every other route away, the ending was just too epic, I almost shed manly tears ^^

Hmm, I don't think Kara no Shoujo was that gory, though the murders were pretty creepy ^^

Well, I just got my first bad ending on Aoishiro, since I didn't really start to focus on any girls and chose options that seemed to be appropriate to the current situation, and after that I unlocked some kind of flowchart hack where I can see what each choice could lead me to, but they were all in japanese so I didn't understand anything, so I just turned it off ^^

I know that I don't really have any right to complain about translation that I didn't pay for or anything, but couldn't they also atleast translate the menu options since they had translated the whole script....? ^^''

I think it's a matter of their ability to edit it, not whether they were willing to translate it. The script is pretty easy to extract and replace, but the menu and such are built differently. Of course I don't have much personal experience with this sort of thing, and every game is a little different, so I'm just guessing. Makes more sense than them leaving it untranslated just to confuse us though :P

I recently played Hoshizora no Memoria, and the true route was pretty exciting, to say the least.

But yes, G-Senjou no Maou has an amazingly epic story. I also, almost shed manly tears over everything that happened.
Great game!

Okay, that's three posts in a row with nothing but praise for this VN. I'll be honest, the summary on the Visual Novel Database doesn't make it sound that interesting. Can someone who's read it tell me about it? Or at least direct me to a summary that actually tells me about the story?

I would tell you what's it's about, but I'm afraid of giving away spoilers by accident...
I'll bet that LightYami can explain with nice detail without giving away major plot spoilers, so please wait for him to read your question.

Ah, I see, if that's how it is, I guess there is nothing to be done ^^''

I'm afraid that I'm not as good at explaining about the story as Sava-san thinks me to be, since I'm one of those ''OMG! This game is so godlike!'' guys who can't give any base to their opinion other than ''It's just so good!'', hahaha ^^

So, here are couple of reviews about G Senjou no Maou ^^

Um...I just took a look at the reviews, and in the first one, the reviewer mentions something about a triple feature, and that part 2 and 3 would be coming out in the near future...
What's that about? I was under the impression that G-Senjou no Maou ended perfectly, and was in no need of a sequel...
If you know anything about this, Light-san, please let me know.
You can just PM me about it, so we can let this topic advance to another conversation.
Lol, we HAVE been talking about this for awhile now, haha.

The only visual novel i got to play is Fate/Stay night(2nd one will be tsukihime)
There are many visual novles that i wanted to play although it's such a hassle and most of them have only 5 or 6 seeders and with no english patch.

@The Rock, agreed with the links though for different reasons. Every time I download one and try to extract the files I always end up with errors and don't get the whole thing :(

Hmm, I'm not sure myself, but I think it means that he/she is going to review 2 more AKB soft's games....? ^^''

Well, yeah, I guess we should move this on to the private messages so that we won't bother anyone, hahaha ^^

Where do you guys download your VNs...? I recommend downloading from erogedownload.com, since it has both the VN and the translation for it, and I haven't had any downloading errors either ^^

I don't know about you, but when I start looking for visual novels, I first check the visual novel database at http://vndb.org/
After I find one that interests me, I see if it's on the site Light-san mentioned, and if not, I try elsewhere -- usually involves a LOT of Google...
But as for whether or not they have ALL visual novels or not -- just know that they only have most English translated visual novels. They don't have any that haven't yet been translated.
Hope that helps!

Just out of curiosity what do you all use to extract your files? I use PeaZip.
