Though the Series May be a bit different from the One Shot it is still entertaining.

"What's her favorite food?" "Bananas" <lolololol

I think I'm really going ahead and following this manga, I haven't seen a Childhood Promise vs Plot-based-Romance in a long time... I think the last time I ever saw a plot twist like this almost right from the start (in a non-shojo comic at least, but then shojos are synonymous with every kind of romance out there) was maybe Love Hina.

Weird as it sounds, I wish Weekly Shonen Jump wasn't the magazine hosting this manga - I've noticed WSJ romances often end up getting Rushed Endings/Axed... I would really love to know how long can the mangaka carry the plot forward. Especially with the promising looking cliffhanger right in chapter two.

Thanks Imperial Scans for scanlating this manga!

EDIT: I'm back in fits of laughter over the "bananas" response. Boo!

I really laughed my ass out when the two subordinates cried when they heard that their bocchan/ojouchan were dating... lolololol <3

I'm kinda guessing that this might end up with the childhood friend finding another love and the two of them confessed their love to each other, I mean most of the manga I read with the same scenario and plot setting almost always ends up this way....

Or it could end up in an open Harem ending? Childhood friend, new "girlfriend", this love triangle has the makings of the start of a Harem manga, especially seeing as most Shonen romances lately are turning into a round-and-round, back and forth Harem.

Ohhh... that could be possible, but I would like it better if it did not end up like that, since it would be it to cliched...

Same. I'd rather it not be a Harem. They are ok. But i'm not to big on Harems

harem would destroy this series for me. its ok, that the two girls like him for now, but I really hope that at the end he will go out just with one of them, plz no harem ending.

I doubt it'll be a Harem Ending. Or that's just my Denial kicking in.

Either way it seem like he'll end up with Chitoge. (prior experience reading similar manga) However I'm already a fan of Onodera and would rather see him end up with her.

I am also a fan of Onedera but he will end up with Chitage (at least thats what I think).
I rally like the drawing of Komi Naoshi, hope this series wont end too soon.

Judging from my experience, it doesn't seem to be going in the harem direction. Anticipated love triangles don't necessarily end up as harem themed, the manga usually starts with elements revealing it to become one.

Will I know this I just hope that it does not end up like angel beat like in the manga the main charter ends up with yuri and in the anime he ends up with the white haired girl I just hate it if it ends up like that.

As long as the author is under the influence of Ichigo 100%, Onedera shall be picked!

If only D: I hope it is a influence because the ending girl I wanted to happen in that manga did! <3

What you mean, like he didn't end up with Aya and chose Nishino instead?!?!? Even tho Aya was the panty girl? and he clearly liked her more?

But this manga is alot closer to Toradora!
Girl Y comes into his life crashing, and turning everything upside down, beating him to half death
the end he "realize" he likes her... instead of the 10+ year old crush...

Adding the Yakuza/Gang families into this makes everything all the more interesting. The best part of this manga is the character interaction between the male & female lead. Their characters are direct opposites of each other but it plays well into the classic "opposites attract" saying. I have a feeling something like that will occur but it'll take time over the course of this manga's run. Raku is your typical shounen male lead in your typical shounen romance. I repeated "typical" since he is somewhat generic minus the fact that he's got this Yakuza background and is at least competent in academics since some shounen male leads aren't too bright or useful themselves. He also has a crush that he's wishing to be with, but he gets a another girl instead...one whom he despises. Again, this isn't anything new that we haven't already seen before in other manga. Chitoge on the other hand probably isn't any better in terms of cliches, but I like her character design anyways since it reminds me a lot of characters like Asuka Langley Soryu or any other popular ojou-like tsunderes you can think of.

I like the manga so far, it's pretty entertaining, and I hope it doesn't go downhill by becoming extremely repetitive or lacking in development regarding relationships. I can name a few romance manga that do actually crash and burn in the end, but Nisekoi doesn't seem to be something like that. Yet....(I hope not)

well, if this series becomes successfull than it will run for a long time and than it will get repetitiv. then if the author is good, he can make it so that even if it becomes repetetiv it will not be boring. unfortunaely this author longest series was 3 volumes long so it is hard to say if he could keep it interesting.

I like the drawing a lot even those very simple drawing on some panels, it just looks very funny^^

I mean since the 1st chapter, I think I'll rest my case against Raku being the one at fault for the two not getting along with each other. I mean the girl did fall on him but she was sincerely sorry (although she should've helped him up something); there was no point of feeling so assaulted by it.
