Ah, I finally caught up with the latest chapter again.

The thing about this manga is that it's so slow and normal and going around in circles that it feels like you're watching this happening in real time.

And though it gets frustrating and makes you impatient, you'd somehow just keep reading it on through and before you know it, you've caught up.

 

This manga makes me feel like I live an exciting and abnormal socially unconcerned life when compared. :|

Now see, I don't mind the MC ending up with Haru. Honestly, I like her better than Shinako. But Shinako being together with Rui... that'd be messed up. They would mess up each other's lives. And I'd hate to think of them both ending up that way.

If she wanted me to do something like someone else like a famous person or celebrity, I would laugh for shits and giggles. Not so much when it's a person courting her.

Haru's smile brought a smile to my face, I admit seeing Shinako all flustered was nice but she needs to straighten out her emotions before she sends any more mixed signals. Haru really brightens up this story.

I hate how wishy washy that woman is...

After taking some time to cool off and reflect, here is my summary of my feelings regarding Shinako and Rui (little brother, in my last post I got confused about the names because I was a little heated and they both start with R). Shinako played that stupid little game where she sent mixed signals intentionally, and in a way that personally disgusts me. "I just need to be forced into a relationship" is slimy and can only end in tears, what she really needs is to see a therapist. I was more angry about her at first, but that's mostly personal, because she is all screwed up inside.

Rui, however, is actually worse, once I think about it. He is entirely selfish. He doesn't consider Shinako's feelings (she probably has qualms about hooking up with the little brother of the guy she liked), and even though there is the Japanese cultural aspect of that, I still find his actions reprehensible. He only attempts to mature in order to throw it in Shinako's face, and is trying to bludgeon her into a relationship. He only really cares for her because he thinks he can get something out of it.
He really handles everything in a poor way, unlike Haru, who genuinely cares for MC and gets to know him and is expressing that in an "if you love something, set it free" kind of way.

TL;DR Rui and Shinako getting together would have me call either foul writing or author diving even more into the "real is gray" territory with a dysfunctional relationship.
