me and one more weekend waiting por chap 21 part V
let's be honest... scanlation/fansubbing has become a round bsns for many... ANIMEXIS just joined the party... that's all...
what surprises me is that i am not the only one that actually thinks that way... but i have to commend TOW for actually doing something about it "sorry for being a lazy bum :("
here is a fact... when you run a group... scanlation or fansubbing whatever... and you take money FOR WHATEVER FUCKING REASON from your fanbase...
then you ARE compelled to provide prompt releases.
but people is also in one way guilty of abusing of their right of "RETARDEDNESS" by "DONATING" money to these people...
Everybody makes valid points, this series is the best
ofc it would be good if the groups that collect money would also do fast releases and so on, I am with you on that, but its like kickstarter, if you get unlucky then the guy that collected the money can just take the money and don´t give you anything for it. its your job to to decide if its worth it to trust and support a project/group so much that you want to donate money to it.
if you want to continue talking about this then it would be better if we made a thread/topic for it, because else we are just spamming the comment section.
I feel groups should be held accountable by the fans, I have a real group and my fans let me know whats up, if you take on a series, claim poverty to collection donations for raws, than you are being held accountable to release, there is no excuse, people are paying for releases so fans should hold them accountable to expect releases within a certain time frame. If a series is a monthly it shouldn't take 3 months per chapter, if a series is already 2 or 3 tanks out it shouldnt take 2 months per chapter, if your server cost so much XXX money than go to a blog format to alleviate expenses, no scanlator should ever have the mindset I come in this business for money, we do it for the love and love should make all efforts to keep cost down but still release a quality item. One editor can release one release a day or one release every two days as long as script is available. and if you have no translator for certain series than drop the series or focus on the series you truly enjoy and drop the ones you dont, there is enough groups out there to pick up those series.
Its not fair to anyone who donates money for raws and hundreds upon hundreds are being donated and no chapter is being released for months on end, I once donated to them as a fellow scanalator, 100 dollars and they stopped releasing stuff for over 6 months claiming some excuse of low staff, if thats the case give back the money people give and drop the series you cant manage and allow another group to take them over.
thats a different topic, but isn´t it the fault of the people that donate the money? I mean they should know how fast the group is and how they deal with their projects, so when they donate its like saying "ok, you can continue doing it like now". so its more the fault of the people that donate, no one forced them to donate.
So tell me how do you justify a group who collects hundreds upon hundreds in donations and releases so little, do they have an excuse to why they cant release the appropriate amount of releases to match all that charity driven donations they collect, dont collect hundreds in donations and release only two chapters a month when your months behind every single one of your series especially when your claiming those donations are for raws, whats the excuse.
We may be the bad guys in this situation but I am also a true scan group not this name and a manga fan, and its annoys me a group is collecting donations and not releasing the the appropriate amount of releases. Dont collect 500 dollars in donations or whatever amount and only do one release a month of one series out of 18 series, is that fair to the people giving you money, Scanlators have lives I agree because I have a real group, but dont collect hundreds in donations and release so little, that is not right.
funny you say "some of us habe lives". what do scanlators don´t have lives??? are they just there so that they can give you new chapters?
I am not taking sides for ToW or Animexis but when you say "..let us feel current" you sound like you are entitled to it.
why don´t you try doing some cleaning or typesetting or even better try translating a chapter and then complain about other people???
Sorry, but I'm with ToW. If they want to release HQ versions of this manga later, then more power to them, but ToW at least lets us feel current. It's one thing to be late with a weekly manga, but when you sit on a monthly manga for two months AFTER the putative release, people end up forgetting about it (hey, some of us have lives too), the following drops off, and no one even remembers the title.
As far as I'm concerned, god bless you, ToW.
Thank you for reading.
(To preface, I'm not with this group; just wanted to provide a little food for thought.)
So something to consider:
As my classes were coming to a close this semester I was allowing my computer to become too much of a distraction and had a friend hold onto it for me just to free me from the temptation and focus on the end of school.
As to this delay anything could have happened. The files of the nearly finished scans may have become corrupted or a computer may have been broken, thus holding up the entire process, or even someone being in a situation like myself and needing to take a break from the scanlating scene to get some stuff taken care of off the web.
This group chooses to do these releases. They are not obligated to in any manner whatsoever regardless of anyone's desire to get an update. If they thought it was funny to dangle a release before the awaiting masses. . . then that would be weird, but I'm guessing that's not the case.
Additionaly, the reality is that while I do think it's very cool what ToWS was able to accomplish so quickly, I also really appreciate the amount of time and effort a group like Animexis puts in to share with us such a high quality release. Personally, especially for a manga like this that is so painstakingly drawn with various details, I also prefer those high quality releases.
Finally, isn't this a monthly release manga anyway? Even if they were delayed with this release and there is now a fairly small "pile up" of chapters, once that pile is cleared it will be right back to a month long wait for the manga itself to be drawn and published. Is anyone aware of how long it normally takes Animexis to go from a RAW to finished release? Even if they were able to get it all done and released in a single day there would still be a wait for the actual comic to come out in the next month.
Ugh I won'r read until i read ch 21 ;p
Lol... Tired of Waiting Scans... So tired of waiting they skip a chapter to ensure no one has to wait for chapter 22.
well yeahh i know it, that was a rhetoric question --'
@tiredofwaitingscans, hah I love the name. When you put it like that, it's true... I myself am pretty lazy, so maybe they are too?
Either way, thanks a ton for speeding up the process! Most of us are just glad to have releases period.
no wonder i was confused, went from 20 to 22. Welp, guess I have to wait for 21 to be released then reread 22 to make much more sense.
The real group who is doing the project is doing chapter 21, we dont want to step on toes if they are in the middle of editing 21, :-)
If the other group does not release 21 within the one month specified, I will gladly release chapter 21,23, 24 all in one massive release, i make that promise to you guys
Chapter 23 is bad ass so many battles
We want them to wake up and release, I did this during half my lunch hour, and still had time to get lunch and eat, its not fair to the fans who are waiting and chapters are appearing left and right for release, we got tired of waiting, instead of doing 21 we did 22 in case it truly does take them a month to edit a 20 page chapter, I used public raws I rather use our own raws but than that would make us the new owners of the series if i invest in raws, we just got TIRED OF WAITNG for a new chapter, it takes less than 25 min to edit a chapter half hearted and translation took 10 minutes, so what issue are they having, it takes not even an hour to do a release
My exact thought @ chapter 22:
How many raws of WCW are out?
Dat new translating team.
