why does the author draw the pigs so cute? now I feel bad about butchering them too. I love pig meat though.

i would recommend you watch this if you haven't yet. i watched this when i was a kid, i remembering liking it.

Ch 77 reminded me a lot of the season I worked for a local butcher shop. I was hired on as cleanup crew, so I mostly washed and sanitized equipment, sprayed out gut barrels, took out trash, odd jobs, etc.

When deer hunting season came around, it was all hands on deck, so I had to help with sinking and moving the carcasses into the cooler. It was quite the experience.

It sad but it takes money to get to a good college or even the college that you want, but man Hachiken grew up since his days from naming the pigs to now watching the process of the slaughter.

We are not talking about actual episodes... that is only a goddamn preview! It creates interest in the anime, which might actually make licensing it more successful.

Also, it's not like the use of proxies is some H@xx0r-magic. If you can google, you can proxy.

You really have to work in marketing a bit to know how stupid it is.  You have to treat customers like numbers, it sounds insensitive, but it's the bottom line that matters in business.

And no, not a majority of ppls would bother to goggle for proxy (for every one of us that knows it, there's a dozen more that don't, education and so forth affects how people use internet, that's why researchers keep on talking about the digital divide).  And you've to remember, licensing is almost guaranteed for decent anime/manga (SEA region), so it isn't a concern of getting a license, it's more along of keeping a larger pool of potential customers. 

We (as in fans, subbers/scanlators, people that can bypass regionblocks, etc...) are view as acceptable loss (not that much different from loss leads) since the popularity amount the fan-community usually translate well into actual sales.  We can be view as lab rats in their eyes.  It's not like studios like having their work translated and shared for free, but it would actually be worse for them if they prosecute us as some portion of the fan base will be purchasing/viewing.  That's in addition to word of mouth advertisement.  We are mutually exploiting each other in such a way that's acceptable for them (and I hope it stays this way until simu. cast in multi language is possible).

tl:dr, earning stable $$$ > appeal for license outside their main markets

I could never do that to my pet chickens.. I saw them from the moment they hatch and now they're all grown into wonderful roosters and hens. The first 3 i even kept them in my house for 6 months. The oldest one a rooster act like a human and would always look out for his flock like a human would and he would greet me everytime he sees me. He would also chase anyone he doesn't recognise. Never seen one like that before. Needless to say i don't see them as food =) Love them so much

Good point about the beef horse.  Plenty of Brits have eaten horse, and liked it.

I think quite a few of us have got over the horse-meat phobia. (Not that I, for one, ever had that: I like horse entrecôte steak very much -- when I can get it.)  Hmm... at this rate, English will need to find a word for "horse meat" in the same way we have words for "pig meat", "sheep meat" and "cow meat". Cue a search for Anglo-Norman words... I dub thee... chev (or maybe cheffer would be better -- dunno).  There: sorted.

I like my chev when I can get it... as long as I don't know the name it had before it was slaughtered and I know what I'm actually bleeding eating in the first place.

I really like that it isn't to far from reality and still not just gory. Though I hope there will also be an incident with a shady company because the horse meat scandal here in europe wasn't that long ago. Because not everyone is so faithful to their work ethics like those students and teachers.

Hmmm... doubt it.  She's got an eye to her resume, here. And, this is a class group project, after all.  Girl's all about the bottom line -- screw up here by skimming, getting a reliable pawn Haichi in trouble or doing anything else that can be seen as dodgy, and her longer term goals go bye-bye.

However, Tokiwa is in for a world of hurt: no holds barred. He may's well sign a contract in blood.

It's to block casual viewers from other countries since they are potential customers (via licensing and sets).  Places like singapore, malaysia, taiwan, s korea, hk and occasionally china are known to license extensively on some of their broadcasting networks.  If you make it "easy" for ppls to watch it, they won't bother to watch it when it's broadcast in their country.  It's a downward spiral for the studios once that start happening.

Truthfully, these are how most Asians are in general where I come from. Coming from an Asian family, my parents would suddenly host random barbecues if they happen to cook too much, and when I was in high school, my mom would always ask me what my friends thought of her cooking...
