If the novel images can be trusted, the first volume of the novel has only one more sex scene. On the other hand, the later volumes of the novel are filled with them.
It wasn't imagination, it was a flashback. Sure, a flashback to something that happened only a few minutes earlier in the same chapter, but still a flashback.
He didn't get laid, it was mostly his imagination, but it was still pretty darn close.

I kinda dislike how the protagonist is so spineless. He seems to be even more spineless than the guy from Minamoto Monogatari. Would've been better, I think, if he were a chivalrous perv or something.

I've just finished hunting down the Light Novels in their untranslated form to get a feeling for where this series is gonna go... and I can tell ya, I facepalmed in disbelief many a time. It's looking to be a train wreck of sexy. Not in a disturbing way, but in a way where you will be wondering how the hell the author gets away with that stuff. And this is just from viewing the pictures alone.
It's looking like the angels are going to be the least crazy thing in this series. Sexy Train Wreck. I won't be able to look away.
Though I think I'd much prefer reading the Light Novels. Seems like the author uses a lot of pages for the bump and grind, so it seems a bit of the books wil end up being edited out in the long run.

It's funny, because I get the idea of the constant cockblocking in harem manga, conceptually. Oftentimes in life the desire for something is actually way better than the thing itself actually turns out to be, so I could see how they'd like to take advantage of it. Unfortunately that tactic just became so commonplace that it lost any kind of power it had as a narrative technique.
