Finally... finally, finally managed to finish it! Computer problems, HDD wipe, more computer problems, forgot where I left off, so I had to re-read everything again, but never felt like it... *sigh*

Anyway, was an awesome read, all over again. Had an happy end too, conversely to what I've been hearing. Though, I kinda woulda wished for an epilogue, that takes place, like, a bunch of years later, with some of the series couples having kids and stuff. Oh well, was still a fun ride.

My only regret about the way this ended was that Iwashiro-sensei didn't have an opportunity to explore the background of Melchesee's Door. Matsuri's story about an 18th century parapsychologist who had documented a man with Ageha's power was very intriguing. The man said there was a demon in his mind called Melchsee, and there could have been a really awesome story exploring that. Le sigh.

because most mangaka's in japan are pansys who draw manga's for otaku's or kids who just want ot see violence and fight but no deaths.
Only a few mangaka's in japans are worth praising, and even their series aren't popular no matter how much of a masterpiece it is. Why? Because in the industry all that matters to them are money and daily releases of chpts that can satisfy the fan. Most don't even give a shit about quality or perfectionism. Same here for American sitcoms as well. Just look at the amount of fanservice going around these days in shoujo and shounen.

Their editors are shit.

I totally agree with Hellion Twins, but I still thought that the last 5-6 chapters were rushed. I thought the battles in the end were rushed (they were short, but had the perfect situations), but the plot was amazing. If Toshiaki Iwashiro-sensei had been given more time, I think he could have made it even better. Even though Ageha learns Nova, I thought it'll take time for him to reach the Melchsee-infused Nova mode...but man that escalated quickly!!.. Overall, it was an amazing manga that could have been better near the end (5-6 chapters), otherwise every chapter was amazing.

I have passed on it before because I believed it was a simple survival themed manga.
What I have found on the contrary, was a manga that kept me on the edge of my seat for two days straight, from Chapter 1 to 145/6. I would have finished it earlier, but I had to sleep.

The pace may seem too fast and previous readers have mentioned a rushed or clichéd ending but IMO, it is perfect. It's plot is constantly moving and there's almost no filler content at all. Character development isn't a lot but is enough to be remarkable.

It's been a long time since I've been swept off my feet by a manga like this. The tension and excitement had me trembling and is still with me as I type this. Psyяen pulled me in and I was with the entire cast for the whole thing. I'll never regret reading this and I doubt you will too.

Hope it becomes something like Birdy the Mighty which got an anime adaptation even though the manga's popularity is questionnable and after running all these years.

If it got serialized in SS or WSM like Magi(which I doubt would last long if it got serialized in WSJ---since it gives off the same vibes as Psyren when it comes to the plot's progression), then it would SURELY get an anime, no doubt about it.

So fuck you WSJ. Iwashiro-sensei, you should just move on to another magazine already.

That's your opinion. Persnoally, I feel Gantz started out well but has become absolute irredeemable garbage. I wouldn't use it to wipe my ass in the desert.

This has a plot, you just missed it. Read the summary. The plot of this manga is so transparent, I'm surprised you're taking issue with its supposed nonexistence. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Your other issues with with manga are personal opinions and I have no problem with them... unless you claim them as fact.

I think I am only one of the few who didnt liked it? Like I said ipreviously even for a shonen it was too unoriginal. Heck,I have already read X-Men & Gantz,and suerly they were lot better than this.
You know there's always a reason why a particular series popularity fall or increase. Even a crappy plot can be popular if its interesting enough*cough~Bleach*. Psyren failed because it neither had a plot or elements to make it interesting enough.

Its nice to see a completed manga that still has a top 10 ranking so often only ongoing manga are in the top 100. >_<

I like people complaining about "the ending was rushed" or "The ending was too cliche." Shall I point out that it at least it HAD an ending. It was a story with a middle, a beginning, and an end, that were close enough together that you could make some sense out of the story.

I thought it was good, and honestly it's not like they just threw in the space monster ending: they mentioned that meteorite right away. Just because there weren't hundreds of chapters of school life and minor mid-boss fights and training montages, does that make it bad? I certainly don't think so.

Not everything in Bakuman is correct. Heck, most are probably wrong. The ToC already proves otherwise that poorer series are being placed on the bottom until eventual cancellation. It also advertise good polling series to top the ToC.

I know, I have seen a questionnaire myself before. However, I never heard of anything like being 4th getting a random placement. By that logic, you're basically saying even series that polls well are being placed randomly at a place where people tend to ignore. Obviously they place series that is doing well to a place where it could gain attention. Examples: New Series are on the first placement all the time to give them more attention. Another example are covers, they give them to series worth giving more attention to.

Do you actually think Jump magazine readers are constantly growing? Not all thing goes as planned, including the age targets. Last year, Shueisha just had a problem of circulation decrease, meaning the buyers decreased. The buyers of the magazine are still the same buyers even after 5 years. Look at Jump's lineup, there are a lot of old generation mangas there. You don't expect a new reader will read Kochikame, right? Even new One Piece readers relies on tankobon output instead of buying the magazines. It may be the most popular magazine line but Shueisha itself is still only the number two Publisher.

Art is a little below average at the beginning, but it gets really good towards the later chapters.

According to Bakuman, which is a Jump comic about Jump comics, being a bottom dweller is not an absolute indicator of neither quality nor popularity.

Jump ratings are (according to Bakuman) based on a "Top 3" ranking system, which means that if a comic XY is considered to be nr. 4, it could very well end up on the lowest ranks, simply because it was never (or rarely) rated 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Also, Jump is a comic read mainly by kids around 12-16 of age, with the average reader age being ~14.
Basically this means that a manga like Bleach could very well be the worst manga ever, yet still be the most popular in Jump, since it targets an audience that only seeks action and combats involving badass skills and evolving skills.

hmm... i came here.....and then...as i thought no update...

"Psyren" has become one of my personal favorite completed series ever. With great plot, amazing action mixed with some comedy "Psyren" is a masterpiece.

The first "arc" was so good, and then it just went downhill from there. It went from epic to your average forgettable shounen manga.

I just read the complete manga in two days, are the 6 am at my time.... shit...
