@qaaq38 I was more referring about the genres both manga fits into and, at that time, only Vindland Saga came to my mind when I tried to find a manga I knew close to that one.

Not to put this down but this isn't comparable to Vinland Saga other then by art. Mercenary Pierre is more Novelist with its heavy narration while Vinland Saga is read through its characters.

If you like manga like Vinland Saga, you will like this one too.
This manga really deserves more fame. It's realistic and almost always historically coherent.
It's short, but pleasant to read even if you already know the story of Jeanne d'Arc.

wtf, this is sooooo gooooood. I didn't know about Jeanne d'Arc before. But this is really worth reading. I read it in one go. Now I kinda like history again.

Hard to say anything without spoiling the end, but it's good (read all of it in one go o_o) and historically coherent.

The way the author plays with my feelings made me think of Berserk, and the details drawing's quality is close to that of Vinland Saga.

Overall a really good manga.

Sorry, after looking a bit, I discovered that "Joan of Arc" was the common English spelling and I didn't know that. (even if I find it disturbing but I guess every language tends to have different spelling for names of even historical characters).

I haven't read that yet, but I'd like to point an error in the description.
The woman's name is "Jeanne d'Arc" and not "Joan".
Please verify the names of historical characters at least.
Maybe I'm being oversensitive because it's my country...
