I know it's not happening, but I shipped Morg & Hakuryuu so badly.

can't help but... *gasp*BgifIC8.png

Sweet Jesus... Talk about Rogain. XD I guess Sinbad got the eyebrows in the family.

So tl;dr the biggest revelation of this chapter was that... David has no eyebrows.

Mind = blown.

How do you think he keeps his appeareance after 800 years? Makeup obviously!

can't help but... *gasp*BgifIC8.png

wow, reincarnation in general? ok so now we're talking about reincarnation like its a scientifically proven and accepted fact?

Nope.

if you say reincarnation in 'general', as you said, means someone can be reborn as a completely new creature, like Solomon could reincarnate not as a human but for example, as a clam. or a fish. yes a fucking fish on steroids casting magic and Djinn equip and shit which isn't the case in this manga

Yep.

no. we are talking about reincarnation in this manga specifically. there has never been any rules spelled out about it, not even the slightest details, so we can only rely on confirmed cases the only one being Aladdin. not only did he confirm it through Solomon's Wisdom but also the Djinns themselves, that he is indeed the reincarnation of their late King Solomon of Alma Torran.

Were we?? I really don't see a difference between reincarnating and reincarnating, even If in a manga. Because we are talking about the same concept. At much, the author would be at fault for having a wrong idea or using a different concept for something already stablished/defined.

And I'm not sure they actually sayed Aladdin was Solomon reincarnated? 0: I really don't remember, so If you don't mind you could show me a page or something?. As far as I can recall they always implied that he was related to him in some way and ultimatly came from Alma Thoran.

this very fact in itself already disproves A-tan's definition of reincarnation.

Except I didn't define anything. 'k

can you name even one, just one bloody person in this manga who is confirmed to have been reincarnated but looked different? if you can then i will put down my speculation once and for all.

You are entitled to your own opinion :U But If you go by that logic, then you can say that in Magi they have Pokemans and purple cows, but the fact that we didn't see them only proves their existence. Wich is... Not true.

about rebirth, we already have one case of that which is actually a resurrection. Titus, retaining all of his and Scheherazade's memories.

Soooo you are saying that Aladdin went for the same process as Yunan and Titus and that he was previously Solomon? I tought they sayed that he was born in Alma Thoran :U Maybe they reffered to his previous form? Anyway, take it easy man, is a manga.

I just realized that the 5 pages thing is because they are chopping chapters just like with Sinbad, ugh.

holy... sense-scans are scanlating gods. that 6th page O_O

So tl;dr the biggest revelation of this chapter was that... David has no eyebrows.

Mind = blown.

OMG your right!!! How could we have been so blind to not notice such an important and significant piece of information!!!

So tl;dr the biggest revelation of this chapter was that... David has no eyebrows.

Mind = blown.

This chapter was brought to you by TL;DR

the mindfucking explosion.

It's kinda wierd David is adamant about using the orthodox church when he doesn't really seem to believe their human supremacist ideology. I don't really get why he wouldn't reform the church or why he would enslave the other species. He even admits one of them could be singularities like him.

He does it because of necessity. In other words, he does it so Solomon and the rest of the world would develop a certain mindset and do certain actions. Doing a good thing doesn't mean the final result will be a good thing.

David simply made himself into a villain so that heroic could rise (without villains, there are no heroes).

IMO, he didn't favor the orthodox church ways in particular, but rather seeing them as necessary to accomplish whatever his life mission's end game is. It's stated that he could read through the chain of possibility for the future event, and maybe from all the mind-blowing matrix calculating shit he's been brewing for who-knows-how-long in his head with a friggin origin energy-powered tentacle being beside him, he sees it necessary for him to play the bad guy role.

Long story short, he's not the real bad guy, but just playing the necessary role to make the story goes smoothly, though the role may not to his liking, because it's stated that he already foresee the end, and it's inevitable.

Sinbad = David

Aladdin = Solomon

David => Father of Solomon

Therefore Sinbad => Father of Aladdin

Then Gyokuen is the Mother? So this *entire ordeal* is just a family feud?

It's kinda wierd David is adamant about using the orthodox church when he doesn't really seem to believe their human supremacist ideology. I don't really get why he wouldn't reform the church or why he would enslave the other species. He even admits one of them could be singularities like him.
Ahhh Magi; teaching you religion and philosophy AND politics the proper way without shoving it down your throat. I'm surprised how deep that text is.
Spoiler

Here's a semi-summary for people that thought tl;dr.

David (Solomon's dad and the current Big Bad in this arc) can read the flow of Rukh to vaguely predict the future, but true prediction magic is not possible. He names people or creatures with this foresight ability as "Singularity"'s born into this world. David basically sees the end of the Alma Torran world and the need to create a new world, so he laments that no one else can see it. He knows the things he is doing is kind of evil but necessary. He extends his own life to prepare for the inevitable end, and he lays the groundwork for his son Solomon to finish. He predicts that Solomon would rebel and defeat him, but Solomon would ultimately finish his work. Also, he notes that Solomon is not a "Singularity".

What to take away from this? David may not be a bad guy, and he is just doing what is necessary to create a new world after Alma Torran dies. David is a "Singularity" who can read the flow of Rukh. Solomon is not a "Singularity", so he may not be all that special and he might just be taking credit for his father's work. Another person in Magi that was named a "Singularity" is our very own badass: Sinbad!!

I got the chapter, but this summary cleared it up even more. So that means that since Sinbad is also known as a 'singularity' he may also be able to see the end of this current world. This explains why he has no qualms with manipulating others in anyway whatsoever in order to achieve his final goal.

I also found it interesting how we don't see Sinbad's eyes in this chapter. This may also not mean much but Sinbad's picture is right in the middle of David's eye shown on page 4.

is Sinbad his reincarnation? idk, they don't resemble each other (maybe because of the eyebags) unlike Aladdin and Solomon. to me he resembles Ren Kouen in this picture more than Sinbad but not quite. who could his reincarnation be?

Why is everyone arguing about reincarnation? Sinbad doesn't HAVE to be reincarnated David just because he is a "Singularity". David mentions that there could be others like him even in different species that have the same ability to be a "Singularity".

You guys are nitpicking semantics of a translation of a manga trying imitate a holy riddle prophecy.

I'm just laying out the theories of 'reincarnation' for you. No need to get snippy. Who gives a hoot about our speculation anyway? The mangaka'll do their stuff as usual regardless

@xile015

I think he meant reincarnation in general. To be reincarnated does not mean to have the exact same self as your previous life. That would be something akin to rebirth instead of reincarnation. It means having your soul or person live in another's form after your death. This ranges from anything alive from animals to humans and assorted things. Also, your reincarnation needs not to follow the same path as the previous live(s). They could be wholly different people.

Dude, that's not how reincarnation works. You are not supposed to look remotely similar (not physically or psycologically) to your "previous self".

People complaining about faces' similarities/dissimilarities in a bloody manga. Oh anime, when will you cease to amaze me?

Bump for those lazy to scroll.

Can someone summarised? I read the translation at mangahelpers and still, I don't get it. But from what I read:

So David didn't expect to have a son. He cannot read the future but can surmise what will happen in the future by reading and concluding from what he sees? He noted that Singularities have the ability to do what he did as well, and Solomon is NOT a singularity but his son. I believe he's trying to say his spawn is a badass, doing what daddy could not.

There's many ways to depict David's diary. So why did Ohtaka did it that way? From the panels, we see David peeking at the cast whom I assume to be watching Alladin's slideshow. The panels then zoom out to show David "looking" at the wiggly thing that Ohtaka calls it "lump of creation power". At the last panel, he deliberately push up his forehead to show that he has no "third eye".

Conclusion: Singularities get VIP seats to see everything that's happening. David is not IN the universe. He's OUT of it. He gets all the goodies that those IN the universe can't. Since Solomon is not a singularity, he didn't get what David got. Solomon is IN the universe which explains why Aladdin gets to talk to him but not to David. Kay, I dunnu what I'm blathering about but yea, that's what I got from the 7 page.

If so, that'd contradict the 'father' theory being David. Then again, if the 'father' they spoke of is David, it is possible he kept a few things in the dark from al-thamen themselves. I mean, Sinbad has both the white and black rukh inside him. That was David's plan in the original world(I think). Pretty sure the al-thamen doesn't know about that what with Ithnan dead and didn't manage to relay the message.
