Has this series been stopped?

There is a vampire managa where the vampires sparkle.. and it's much older than Twilight....

To be fair, the woman who wrote twilight, and i forget her name, borrowed lots of motifs including the ability to read minds from existing myths but also from a more recent publication which apparently has the exact same cover art of an apple. Just given a more mormon bent, what with the whole no sex before marriage spiel. Her books stole off another series, she just wrote more compellingly. if that is at all possible as an adjective to describe the writing of twilight.

It is almost impossible for anything to be "Twilight like". Well, unless the vampires are actually sparkly. To the contrary, Twilight simply borrowed a bunch of existing vampire and werewolf motifs from fiction and even roleplaying games; but the author did not succeed in stealing that stuff; she could not make it her own.
Honest to Stoker, the fantasy section of the bookstores has been filled with vampire and werewolf stuff for like twenty years now; when it started I thought it was a fad but it turned into an annoying megatrend and never went away. And although as a trend it was annoying, there is a bunch of stuff in all those mounds of vampire books that is way better than &*#$ing Twilight. Lost in London is like some of those, it's not like Twilight.

Hmmm . . . I'm liking the way there are complications brewing on the human side as well. Both "weird" ones and more mundane.

There were hundreds of vampire stories before Twilight, there will be hundreds after. For all its popularity, I don't think it's had a lot of impact on the genre. With a bit of luck, these ones don't sparkle.

And chapter 12, the big reveal! Shock! Amazement! Finally admitting flat out what we knew perfectly well from chapter 1!

This is a vampire story, but it is nonetheless surprisingly good. I like the atmosphere.
