Description: 17-year-old Awaya Mugi and Yasuraoka Hanabi appear to be the ideal couple. They are both pretty popular, and they seem to suit each other well. However, outsiders don't know of the secret they share. Both Mugi and Hanabi have hopeless crushes on someone else, and they are only dating each other to soothe their loneliness. Mugi is in love with Minagawa Akane, a young teacher who used to be his home tutor. Hanabi is also in love with a teacher, a young man who has been a family friend since she was little. In each other, they find a place where they can grieve for the ones they cannot have, and they share a loneliness-driven physical intimacy. Will things stay like this for them forever?

this is such a psycho-mind-fuck like man i pity both characters, but in the end them substituting each other for their love/crush will end up getting them together which is good.
I'm actually finding this to be moving too quickly.
Mmm . . . well, possibly, but it's not strictly her point of view, and the variations from that are significant. I looked back and you do get a couple thought bubbles out of him thinking about Akane-san while he's with Hanabi. They're not clear expressions of love or anything, but one is like "A girl feels soft . . . I wonder if Akane-san feels like that". So I kind of think his crush is real rather than made up.

Also, some of it is from an ambiguous point of view. Ch 2 starts with a frame of each of them, side by side with name and description, and then goes to stuff like "we both have someone else we like" with it being totally unclear which of them is narrating, setting it up as either or both because they're the same. The story goes to such lengths to set up that equivalence between them I'd be surprised if it turned out to be a deception.
@Purple Library Guy

I thought it may be as simple as him getting an arc soon to show his side and we very well may get that Mugi arc, but there really has been NO real indication he likes his tutor. So as of right now a guess that he actually doesn't have feelings for her is perfectly plausible. I'm talking about having something as simple as where Hanabi's crush has been shown to like that same woman. All we really have is Mugi defending her a bit and him calling Hanabi her name in that embrace.

What we have seen is a little beyond a simple Hanabi arc, the story is 100% from her POV so far. She even speaks for Mugi which makes me a little suspect. The manga is even being redundant in showing how Hanabi likes her teacher, so this leads me to believe the main focus will be her relationship(s). So even if Mugi does like his tutor, it may end up being a minor aspect of the story, which is basically the same as him not liking her at all.
Jeeze, everyone's so impatient. Their characters are being developed gradually, and I'm sure Mugi will get an arc for his hopeless love at some point. And no doubt they'll develop feelings for each other. But it'll be a while. This isn't Yesterday o Utatte, and the art is kind of shounen-ish, but it's still a seinen. There are ways to develop character other than starting with an easy hook to define the person.
The fact that we've only seen Hanabi's crush on that teacher and how even Mugi's "feelings" are from her POV it makes me think he might not have a crush on his tutor, at least not in the same way Hanabi does.

I think Mugi is just letting her think he likes his tutor to get closer her. He seems to console and care for her a lot for a fake BF.
Well...
Spoiler
And that's why I love seinen romance. <3
Still not interested in any character, but I like the art.
@Evan Dark
AMEN! Thats true! They just seem like bunch of teenagers rebelling againts x because they can't get THAT Y. Both of them are pathetic so far.
Maybe thats the auhors idea of charachter "development", though. Then again i dunno.
I find this pretty fun to read
I like thisssss
@Evan Dark I think I agree with you there :D All I feel about that girl is that she's either too twisted or too perverted. But I still follow to see how it will turn out.
I'll say it if no one else: it's pretty damn boooring!!!

The original idea isn't bad, but it failed to make it interesting so far. It's already been 3 chapters, and I still can't like either of the main characters at all. The setting is uninteresting. Oh, poor them, they have sex all the time, just to lighten their sorrow... just kill them, then, maybe I'll feel sorry for them.

Storytelling 101: You have to make us interested in the protagonist, or we won't care about the story!!! Make him(her) do something, so that we either like or hate him(her)! And you have to do this in the very first chapter, so the readers will read the next one too.
I'm finding Hanabi to be a little bland. More focus should be on Mugi. Like others have mentioned, Mugi seems to be able to cope by himself, unlike Hanabi. I'd lol, but the plot should progress where Akane-sensei falls for Mugi, which will get Hanabi to realize her feelings for Mugi.
lewd
I like this artist
Far as I can figure, it's you. Hangs together fine by me--there's a lot of flashback, but it all feeds into the story pretty directly.
Is it me or is the story 'all over the place'? It feels like the chapters (so far) are stand-alone.
neh, female homos are pretty rare.
in most cases it's like that short-black hair girl on yandere kanojo who you bet is a lesbian but she doesn't outright admit it or something.
I'm loving this. it's such a good manga. It makes my heart burn from racing too fast.
i am waiting for male characters chapter still, as it is he seems too nice and saintly! need a closer look
@ tetsudan actually i do too you know, its not uncommon at all to adress people generations above you by honorific, like grandpa, auntie, btw in most asian countries aunties and uncles dont have to be first cousins, they can just be close to your family, as such i do that too. both in english and in native language

but brother? older brother? never heard that in my life, i only say that in my native language (i am filipino), never heard anyone literally call someone else by brother unless it was in context of a fraternity or brotherhood
@TheRater Younger people still call older people Uncle or Auntie in English in at least some parts of Malaysia.
Agreed. There's usually a man-hating lesbian or a trap whom everyone seems to be inexplicably attracted to, without (or with minimal) exception.

Kinda old.
I thought this manga was going to have a lot of drama, but after reading all the chapters it isn't as bad as i thought it would be. I can't wait to read more!
