The pacing is very fast and the timeline gets a little confusing. All in all i'd say the history is interesting but poorly executed, still is worth reading.

the first few chapters were good

but in the middle of the manga everything goes haywire characters coming out of no where, powers coming out of no where, you just get confused of what the hell is happening...

Well, let me spoil the anime version of this for you. The hero gets his head cut off. The end. Haha.

The manga does not apparently seem to be like this.

Don't understand the negativity!!! I watched the anime of this years back and hated it but the manga is hell of a lot better.

The positives of this is for me, the characters, for a short manga having so many interesting characters can be hurtful but who cares I really like practically all of the characters in this other than Tetsuya(?).

The negatives would be the scale of the plot packed into 40 chapters, honestly it was pretty hard just to shrug it off and look past it, the manga goes through politics/rise to power/1000 years/love/betrayal/etc over such a small amount of time(to read), it just made barely any sense or impact

Wouldn't rate the manga very highly but it wasn't by any means a bad read.

I'm reading at some of the comments and am wondering if we read the same thing? I must admit I originally read this in Chinese but the English translation is basically the same.

This manga holds some interesting themes: an immortal love-story where the two protagonists are fated to be together even though at times they are separated for long periods.

Ya'lls comments are making me debate on even picking this one up. Anybody got an unbiased review?

Like the posted song, its funny because it really does fit.

I remember this...The first volume or so had me hooked. Thought it was an instant classic, easily a favorite.

But good grief, did this series fall off a cliff...Terrible by the end.

Excellent read. I feel they came to a satisfying conclusion. Some research concerning the different time periods they talk about is necessary to really grasp the feeling of time. Also it would be amazing if there was a continuation of some sort as it leaves room for more.

Bad storytelling, but thats what happens when you mix world altering characters with multiple hundred-year time gaps and appearance changing shifts.

Its not really worth it. The story gets kinda screwed up, apart from the timeskips. Not recommended. Btw add an ecchi tag, there's naked adventure and laying. The action is ok but the mangaka forgot the main character is an ex-samurai halfway through. His sword went kinda missing. Lauren, its not worth the read you got anything to recommend? PM.
