You don't get it at all. The point is that her getting pregnant would be her getting even farther away from him. To him, it's like an older sister leaving the house, and he needed to express his thanks for everything she did for him as a child before she became too caught up in having her own family for it to matter anymore.
Yeah, he feels refreshed now that he knows the married woman he has no hope of getting isn't actually pregnant. That was what made the difference. I don't get this guy.

I don't believe it was a crush. She was always there and helping him when he was younger, like an older sister, something he was always happy and grateful for but his personality/age wouldn't allow him to be honest. As he grew older, that feeling remained inside and he held it in because, well, that's what males do. Since she'd always been there, he felt that things would continue on like that, so there was no rush to be honest.
I think that hearing she was pregnant was the final kick that said things were going to be changing and she may not be around anymore. Calling her "onee-chan" was his way of saying "Thank you for all that you've done for me." - something he wanted to say all along (though tucked away in the back of his mind).
That's just how I see it.
So... Did he get over his crush? Or he realized that he was idolizing her and not loving her? I will need someone to spell me this one.

My biggest problem with this manga is that in chapter one Narumi is in a steamy bathroom with her glasses on. Fortunately that's easy to get over lol.
