As a girl, a gamer, and a teacher, I enjoyed the first story in more ways than one. I'm not a big fan of teacher-student relationship manga (which, y'know, is probably due to my job), but this was pretty tame and really brought back a lot of memories... From my experience, I understand why he would hide his game obsession from his students. It really does cause issues in classroom management when gamer students start raving about certain scenes/fights/characters/items from a game in the middle of class, expecting you to reply. Also, it can be pretty awkward for everyone when playing MMOs with students- especially when you know that they haven't finished their homework. In Japanese schools, I'm pretty sure some of the more "traditional" teachers would look down on a gamer teacher for acting "childish".

As a gamer who has previously been a target of bitchy remarks from other girls (it's never guys) who don't 'get' it, what Kayo said here in Chapter 1 really resonated with me. In my previous job, I'd play on my DS during breaks and would now and again receive snide comments/smirks from other girls. Funny how my male friends never had that problem, eh? I'd be sitting playing mulitplayer with some friends at work, male and female, all of us on DS/PSPs, yet only my female friend and I would get those kinds of looks. Well, I gave back as good as I got and they learned really quickly not to mess with me, haha. I work in the games industry now (yay!) so don't have to deal with ignorant people like that anymore, fortunately.
