Art was pretty bad overall since the beginning, really. Still, reading it, you can really tell it's adapted from a light novel. There's alot of detail in regards to the IS and its history and that all gleams through even in this manga. So I guess even if the author's art was no good he was able to at least get that part right.

Well i didn't like this manga probably because art..... i wont say it sucked because i ain't any better when it comes to drawing but that triangle-like faces were kind of disturbing i prefer LN over manga in this case.

...

try the anime version too ...

the art is a lot better than this manga ...

(for the detail in story, read LN instead)

on the bright side season 2 of infinite stratos is in the works so we will get to continue on with that

...

hoping the fight animation get better and better ...

it's very rare to have suit mecha armor anime ...

Well i didn't like this manga probably because art..... i wont say it sucked because i ain't any better when it comes to drawing but that triangle-like faces were kind of disturbing i prefer LN over manga in this case.

Kinda disappointed the manga ends at the same event as anime while the LN should be provide more material to the manga (and now it got continued).

Hoping to get manga continuation with different artist (the doujin artists is 100x better to draw the character)

The light novel is " the original " one. The anime was based off the light novel, with some changes in order, some cuts, some fillers...
The manga is based off the light novel too, but follows it more closely, tho there are some exclusive things.

About the art: the anime's art is WAY different (better). The old artist made the manga adaptation, and the light novel illustrations.

About length: light novel > manga > anime.

I dunno about the anime ( didn't see till the end ), but the manga goes till volume 3 chapter 4 of the light novel... it doesn't cover up the epilogue.

Time-wise: The first volume was released in May 2009, and the last one ( not counting volume 8 ) was released April 2011, so it was pretty fast.
The first season of the anime was released from January 2011 through March 2011. The second one.. isn't finished yet
The manga was released was released from May 2010 through July 2012.

tl;dr

* Manga and Light Novel have the same artist (sucks);
* Manga and Anime are incomplete;
* Light Novel is out faster;
* Light Novel is harder to read while the anime is the easiest ( with the manga being the middle-man );
* Manga and Anime got censorship and fillers.

My bad, sorry, seems like I didn't ask properly, I was asking about the differences between IS LN and IS manga/anime specifically, not in general. I want to know about changes and cuts, from people who have read the LN.

Plus... is it just me or are the body proportions of the girls exceptionally disproportional and lanky in this chapter?

Because as another person said below me, we scanlated IS from Comic Alive! the magazine that IS was serialized in. The final tankouban/volume for IS that is published after enough chapters are accumulated, came out in September. I think July 27 was the final day IS was published in Comic Alive!

Long story short, chapter 25 is the final chapter, and the manga is now complete. (:

Chapter 25 was probably the last chapter of Volume 5. I suspect that Simple Scans is scanning whatever magazine IS comes out on, and not the actual Tankobons (either that, or they're scanning from the Tankobons and Vol. 5 came out last September).

I suppose this manga version was more an adaptation of the anime than the LNs?
