I just read this again, for the first time since it came out, and it is STILL one of the most hilarious one-shots I have ever come across. I haven't bookmarked it as a follow, as I just have to write "cool" in the search box. If I could write social commentary as funny as this, I'd be the Dean Swift or Laurence Sterne of the 21st century. This is bleedin' classic!

I don't understand why there's hate for this. There's a bit of a culture gap for me(the specific type of cool dude that was being parodied isn't really American), but I got the joke right away and realized that it was just taking it to extreme for comedy's sake. The ending was great. It's a common joke, but turning an object into a character really worked in this little universe because it made the "Everyone is too cool" thing even crazier. It couldn't last as a multi-chapter thing, but that's not the point of it.

I don't get all the hate. I laughed until my sides ached, especially when the pop star told everyone at his concert not to go crazy, as it affects your ability to be a functional member of society. One might think the author is poking fun at hysterical, alarmist armageddonists who think the world is going to end with the Mayan calendar cycle, or because the lowest turtle has flatulence.
