You would be surprised by how common it is.
So yeah... you can probably still keep that feeling RoflCat.
As far as I know, the restaurants there aren't that different than those in the US, like you mentioned, unc15. Maybe some more... unique... menu items. (The American line of burgers, for instance. Beverly Hills Burger? With ceasar dressing on guacamole and egg? Who thought of this?) But the main difference is how people view them, and the culture, I guess. The service there is a thousand times better, and people seem to spend time hanging out there, like it was some kind of coffeeshop or casual diner. So it kind of just comes down to the way people look at them, I guess.
Although admittedly, it's the Japan's version so they might actually have something good (over in US everything tastes average or below in my opinion, and this applies to pretty much all fast food chains)
