The reasons why he keeps it a secret is because he'd rather not try if he's more than likely to fail and also because he doesn’t want to end up like his classmate Anezaki Runa. Runa is also aspiring to be a manga author but is obsessed with it to the point where everyone keeps a distance from her because of her anti-social and weird habits. But one day, Runa finds out about Taiyo’s secret and forces him to pursue his dream. Taiyo learns that throughout his life, he has cared too much about public perception which will continue to limit his ability as a manga author unless he opens himself up even if it means rejection. @KarchAmadeo Definitely agree, this one has a much feels to it and less focused on the realism, hardcore reality of what a mangaka actually has to do.

true, plot seems like Bakuman but it's not like Bakuman is the first MC tries/wants to be a mangaka or the career of a mangaka. There are several others before Bakuman. Bakuman just made it popular.

Example : Comic Party (although it was originally a Dating Sim game)

Psh, dont even compare this with bakuman. This one gives off a more...heartfelt feeling than that dreary work. It was good, but was too drawn out.

Not bad so far, but the part where they gave the impression that the protagonist's character is indicative of the mangaka's character made me worry. We got way too many naive, indecisive, weak shounen protagonists.

@Attis we should all know by now that no Japanese boy has anything resembling an imagination.

This is good, kinda interesting. Reminds me of Man-ken and Bakuman a bit, will hopefully diverge more than a little from those stories while retaining some charm.

...Wow. Maybe I'm over-analyzing things, but I could swear that this manga is saying "I am inherently superior to all of you people reading it because I make manga".

That's... certainly putting all of yourself into the manga all right. Possibly a bit too much, but that's another story.
