as much as I had fun reading it so far I have to admit that I had somewhat the same thought. I don't like when it suddenly gets ridiculous or extremely exaggerated out of nowhere. I can accept the naming of some attacks ( even if it sounds stupid xD) but a welterweight teenager punching the sandbag up in the air like that really should have stayed out of this manga.

To be honest I really don't give a F8c about that glasses kid. I don't think he has any purpose in this manga.

well, that's what he gets for being overconfident just because he got a slight advantage midway.

So basically the author is going to keep using Watari as the sacrificial b**ch to show the level gaps of the characters.  I find it pretty sad the  author is using Watari like that.

Well Major went to over 700+ chapters so I don't think the story is going to end just yet and that Watari is going to be playing that role and that role only.

As for the chapter. I suppose it isn't too surprising that we'll be getting finishing moves like it's the WWE. Can't say I like it very much, but not much you can do about it.

Then again I don't see how anyone level headed would fall for that move or let alone not have something to counter it since he was wide open when he went to throw that submarine sandwich punch.

The 4 Heavenly Kings is probably just a reference to the 4 guardian/warrior gods (四天王) in buddhist cosmology (going by the Japanese names, Bishamonten, Koumokuten, Zoujouten and Jikokuten).

In Japan they're real gods, and all have faces like Akuma from Street Fighter, lol. It's not like the author just woke up one day and came up with the title, like "Majestic Gryphon Four" or anything like that.

Having said that, I still understand what you mean though. It seems everything from Beelzebub to Gundam have something like 'The Four Heavenly Kings' lmao and I'm sure it hasn't been cool for a decade. I'm wondering if it's appearance in recent manga isn't more a light-hearted prod at it's overuse.

@Khern I do as well, but I'm already reading lots of bullshit manga, but this is the single boxing one I'm reading. I want some punches at the very least.

chill. him being sick was just a setup to measure the strength of a championship school in comparison with isamu's. the author prolly just wants to show that tsurugi's school is really strong, which will prolly be a build up to show how strong isamu is. it wont be interesting if isamu just goes around going apeshit and beating up everyone. people has to understand that the new characters being introduced are really strong. its like in dragonball where when frieza was first introduced, he beat up a couple of people who goku had trouble winning against in the past showing his strength. then it builds up to show how goku is even stronger beating him up right after. tho i guess the author is planning on making tsurugi the goal/rival for much longer since the one who showed seidoukan's strength is someone inferior to tsurugi.
