Her life may seem very tranquil and happy from the outside, but Saya also secretly wields a mystical sword to defend the town from the 'Old Ones,' monsters who eat people. Lately, Saya is beginning to think that there's a lot more to the situation with the Old Ones than she knows...

I see. I watched "Blood: The Last Vampire" years and years ago, and although I've forgotten most of it, I don't remember there being much of a plot. I guess "Blood +" Stuck in my mind more since: 1) it was a series; 2) it had a discernible plot; 3) it was more recent. I guess this idea/series/whatever just kinda gets remixed from time to time, huh.

As I recall, it's related to Blood: The Last Vampire.
Blood+ was like a very derivative retelling of Blood: TLV
So in a sense, yes they are related, but only distantly in that there is Saya, and Chiroptera, and she kills them.

This is "Blood +"-related, right? I mean, "Saya," the "Old Ones" (*coughchiropteranscough*), etc...

@Amelie: Well, the anime has more ~~blood~~ details, but is also confusing until the latest episodes. But is good, in my opinion.

Well...this is an Shounen Manga after all. If they contain too much gore or are too ecchi, it is usually watered down in the Anime version. In Japan, they either completely censor everything inappropriate or they leave as it is, they don't cut or "chop" anything within.

Thought I'd mention it in case some people doesn't knows. All Anime characters went through the hands of "character design".

The final appearance of the character varies depending on which artist did it, sometimes there are two or more artists drawing the designs. One is the original and the next is the follow ups.

In my opinion, anything by Clamp is generally good but Blood-C is an collaboration work. I'm not saying it is bad. lol
This Mangaka managed to capture the mystery aura that Clamp's work often protrayed... I won't comment further as there is only afew chapters out right now.
