this author is the god of capturing awkward moment. Almost every one of his series has been like that from the beginning to the end. Even this wanna-be happy chapter, there's a awkward moment. Truly astounding.

im too happy about this chapter
and i know the author will use this as a weapon to kill us all
fuck ANYONE MARK THIS AS AN ENDING PLEASE

Yes, you're right, the author is a psycho ><

I wonder if this might have a happy ending after all. They've had a good few chapters all with a positive theme now.

Its me or they're just like

just you

Silence before the storm...

and then his past gets dug up by one of those guys and Tokiwa, learning about Nakamura, will think she's just a replacement for her, and that's the end of his happy life(at the moment at least).

Its me or they're just like

The healing is going well. That's all I can say at the moment.

Right folk, you can stop reading now, this is the ending you want. The prefect ending would be him cheating on this girl with Saeki !

Reading this series is a lot like trying to prevent your parents from finding out about the bad grades you've got. As each day/chapter passes, you grow more and more apprehensive ad fearful, waiting for the inevitable shitstorm.

that's my life.

I'm willing to bet she gets a visit from her relatives: the Nakamuras.

If you're right you truly are God

I'm willing to bet she gets a visit from her relatives: the Nakamuras.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the mangaka might just be willing to cut his author surrogate a break for a change. Maybe he has decided to allow Kasuga to grow into a more fully realized, emotionally whole individual, someone who would have a strong enough sense of himself to not be as easily manipulated by a psychopath like Nakamura.

Or, on the other hand, maybe he is just setting us up for some surprise plot butt-secks.

So everybody's happy, aren't you happy ?, you cold blooded vultures, your just waiting for that poor guy to fall down again

went from real sad and depressed to real happy (or at least "feelgood", if not happy)

i like it

Enjoy it while it lasts.... :(

I have never been emotionally affected by a manga to this extent, in a bad way, ever. I almost think the author is trolling us.

When innocent and kind intentions and actions are not rewarded, and irrational, short-sighted, unintelligent thinkings and behaviours are glorified, some part of me just couldn't accept it. I've read enough nutty mangas but this one REALLY gets me.

Kasuga was a never pervert to begin with: guy didn't steal the gym clothes intentionally. Then Nakamura blackmailed him into doing all sorts of crap.

This is all well and good. Since Kasuga still had a clear mind, and the author did not make an attempt to justify Nakamura's doings.

Then shit went down. Kasuga made the assumption that "Saeki will be fine without me, so I'll save Nakamura". Kasuga had been suffering from Nakamura's blackmailing, and this decision had serious motivation flaws.

But by stealing panties, putting a panty on a statue, and being a masochist?

Just look at what Nakamura had done before this: blackmailing him into wearing gym clothes when they went on a date, then sabotaging him by stripping him naked in front of Saeki saying he wore them during their date; lying about Saeki wanted to have sex; force her ideas of Kasuga being a pervert onto him.

It pains to see Saeki's repeated innocent and kind hearted actions and words being repaid with bullshit from Kasuga. And Nakamura's blackmailing, sabotaging behaviours being received favourably by Kasuga. To the point where they attempt double suicide.

So Kasuga justifies all this thinking "Saeki will be happy without me anyways, I need to save Nakamura"? Then in ch. 29 page 16, when Saeki asked "so am I the only one you are allowed to make unhappy", Kasuga yet again went full Bananas. At this point of this series I believe Kasuga is drinking the kool-aid. And the Author is definitely either:

1. trying to convey some ideas I'm simply not getting.

2. trolling

And in the new arc Kasuga simply forgot about Saeki and got obsessed with the idea of seeing Nakamura again. I'm done.

Sorry for the rant, something's got to get out of me.

You are only looking at the surface methinks. Kasuga is definitely not just a passenger on the nakamura trainwreck. He is a closet masochist who secretly loved being dominated by Nakamura. Nakamura saw through his exterior and wrenched that real self out kicking and screaming. Kasuga was definitely having an identify crisis, it was not your typical teenage angst, but something much darker that resonated strongly with Nakamura's personality.

Saeki was an idealisation for Kasuga, he never had real feelings for her and they had no common ground to begin with. He projected all the ideals that he thought he should uphold (but never really believed in) on her and put her on a pedestal. He never saw her for who she really was. Saeki's reaction was also not surprising at all. She was twisting and bending herself trying to fit into a role that satisfied her family's preconceived notions until she was almost suffocating. Kasuga's apparent radicalism represented freedom and self-expression. She didn't want to be perfect she wanted to be able to reveal her real flawed self. She took a pretty bold step in embracing that freedom and had the rug pulled from under her feet, when the person on whom she was counting on abandoned her.

The way Kasuga justified his actions is just him lying to himself. He found himself with Nakamura. He never wanted to save her, he wanted to be like her.

In the new arc we see a more jaded, but also more mature Kasuga, who has knowingly, intentionally regressed back into his original shell, in search of some semblance of normality. He is trying to move forward, to reform himself. He is desperate for a fresh start. The question is will he make it?

This isn't an unrealistic story at all. In fact this kind of thing is pretty common, though the exact form varies. Some young people's proclivities lead them down a dark path and the catalyst for the downward spiral is invariably an encounter with their own version of Nakamura. People like Saeki and Kasuga's parents are collateral damage. Most people can easily think of a such a story pretty close to home. That is why this manga is successful.

I clicked on the latest chapter with a slight sense of dread in my heart.

Then I read the chapter.

That sense of dread has now turned into full-blown fear for the events of the next chapter.

Reading this series is a lot like trying to prevent your parents from finding out about the bad grades you've got. As each day/chapter passes, you grow more and more apprehensive ad fearful, waiting for the inevitable shitstorm.

Every time I clicked for the next page, I expected to see Nakamura. Damn this manga, you know something bad's going to happen.

Welp, time to let the feels flow free now. Tomorrow will be a bad day. Get ready for that next chapter, it's gonna hurt.

God fucking damnit, Just stop this already! We don't need anymore chapts, this is a good enough of a ending!!!

Oh man, I can't wait for the story to turn 180 and give us some more suffering...again.

people just so love messing with the tags on this site, this manga never used to have a tragedy tag. Sure it's a  dark story, but there isn't any specific tragedy to warrant that tag.

The other reader sites don't have it, mangaupdates doesn't have it..........it really sucks to put that tag on things that don't deserve it since it's such an obvious turn-off to so many readers.

Hah!! I just noticed, somebody added "mystery" to the tags, oh my god, how hilarious is that, what "mystery" would that be???

You know what would be horrible? The author knows we're expecting bad to happen. All these chapters before? It was all just a set-up for a high school romantic comedy with a dash of teenage drama. It's all going to be daisies and sunshine from here on, but we won't believe that.

We're going to be sitting in our rooms, waiting for the darkness to come back. It's the kind of horror you get when you're sitting in a room by yourself, and the monster is behind you, tapping your shoulder. You wonder what's behind you, but you don't want to turn around.

We're all filled with paranoia now. Ugh, my heart can't take this.

If things starting to get too good, you know something bad's going down.

These feelgood chapters. Feels like the calm before the storm aka. Nakamura...
