I can't make head or tail, why the manga tittled "A methed to make the gentle world"
But It's a damn good.
And Damn to the Satan
Yurine-chan or Aoi end.
Reading an update of this manga always warms my heart, the characters are very well done, specially the girls. Thx for the update!
The girls are fun and all, but I can't help thinking Tomonaga's talents are going to waste. I hope he ends up going to America with Aoi or something along those lines. Romantic closure plus science.
holy satan, how can an almost-philosophical series about geniuses in society and "typical" JK love story can be so damn cute, exciting, and deep at the same time? love the author and scanlator who brought this wonderbar series to us
love this series. also, love how Ustnap's name in the credits were in extra large font.
This is actually better than denpa
Ah yes, the overbearing delusional helicopter parents. As for those parents that oppose support for gifted children and "advanced" class, seen them, got horrified by them. Of course, this was just the result of immigrating from an asian country where the education was ~3-6 years ahead of the ones here. Some of them parents called the class a waste of resource in supporting a group of freaks during the group parent meeting night (I guess that's why they never did them again) when they should instead spend all the "wasted monies" on sports equipment. This was when I was in elementary school, with kids bringing the parent(s) in. The "jock dad" had to be escorted off school property by police when the other parents started arguing back and scuffle started by said dad, in front of a group children.
Either way, they got their wish when a conservative government came and slashed our school's budget to peanuts. Naturally, all the gifted classes and advanced programs were removed. But they were right about one thing, the class was indeed a group of freaks, just in a different sort of way. By the time middle school came around, all of us got into trouble with our teachers one way or another cause we either sleep in class, kept scribbling in our textbooks to correct it, "don't listen to our teacher" or just did our own thing. One of the really smart kid made a bottle rocket and launched it at lunch scaring the shits out of the adults (yes, cops were called).
Long story short, when you have a group of "gifted kids" that's prevented from burning their curiosity and energy, they cause mischief and become mal-adjusted later in life in a lot of the cases. Mainly due to the fact that there was hardly anyone to socialize with since there's literally only a handful (if that) there that can connect with/get them. It is scary and sad when you see cases, especially when a friend, commit suicide because they literally got bored to death (cops were naturally clueless, and there were also media ban policies that still exists). And that isn't even the saddest thing, it's worse when you see all the flames of intelligence slowly extinguished within a 5 year timeframe because "you can't learn outside the curriculum during class time". Teachers that cared really go out of their way to help only to get run over by the bus of conservative/self-righteous parents. Our old government literally killed off the potential scientists, pioneers and entrepreneurs of my generation with the help of some of these parents. and no doubt jaded/chased away a lot of good teachers.
On the bright side, we have the internet now. Haven't seen anymore younger kids offing themselves from isolation and boredom (at least not here). It's amazing to see a group of grade 5 kids talk about soil erosion and carbon sequestration at almost university level, and then brainstorm on mitigation measures, "just for fun", and isn't afraid to go and ask someone else much older on what they think and then go back and analyze it until they get bored and discuss something else or when they hit a literal deadend (as in, they get to a solution that can't be improved anymore or a point where our science can't answer it until someone experiment on it). The idea of buffering NYC with coastal defenses they've been talking about to prevent future storm related damages? I can bet some kids already thought of that and likely have a better plan. Then we have someone like chris hadfield that ignited a bunch of kids' flame, many of them would be extinguished no doubt, but we have more chances now for kids, regardless if they are gifted or not, to really thrive. This is probably why some people will fight tooth and nail for net neutrality, especially academia and intellectuals.
Damn, sorry, wrote a wall of text, this just really struck a chord.
TL;DR, parents are usually the problem as well as other adults that limits/burden the kids.
TY
thanks for the new chapter Vexed Scans!
Thanks a lot for the update!
I kind of wish it was longer though these type of stories go by so fast with barely anything happening in them.
TIL: reading yaoi manga makes your boobs grow.
A new school term huh? This should be good. Oh and lol @ sensei, always so fun to watch.
I think that was Little Man Tate w/ Jodie Foster
...Yurine seriously needs help with her drinking issues
Yurine should always be drunk, good things always happen when she's drunk.
My wife is a teacher and sadly all too often we see parents who resent children if they seem to be smarter about as often as those who try and support the smarter children. But the truth is most parents are simply apathetic either way from our anecdotal evidence.
Some parents I think react negatively out of feelings of jealousy or inadequacy in equal measure when facing a truly gifted student.
I wish I could remember the title of the movie but I recall it was about a musical genius child being raised by a barely scraping by single mother and there was a scene where she painted a piano for him in his room and the kid simply replied that it was one key too short. I felt so bad for the mother because all through the movie she feels she is losing her child to his gift and those teachers around him because she just doesn't understand.
On the flip side we have seen it to be far more common that a parent insists a child is gifted when they honestly are not or a child has 'insert various conditions here' as an excuse for the child when they clearly do not have said condition.
I miiiissed this serieeeeeees. I hope we get updates more often! I´m really curious about how the story´ll develop!
Firstly it's not true that in western culture there isn't that point of view. If the pressure to "be normal" is not from your parents, then its from your peers. And there really aren't enough option out there for gifted children that people know about. Because teachers and parents encounter so few gifted children, a lot of them do get swept up into living at the same pace as their peers, and being understimulated.
Apart from that, TOMONAGA DON'T BE AN IDIOT. GO BACK TO COLLEGE. Bah. I really hope he doesn't get stuck in teaching his whole life. Such a waste.
I'm really digging the art in this one. The lines are much smoother and softer than I'd expect in a seinen. There's definitely a lot of shoujo/seinen influences in this one as well.
the academic world is a harsh indeed. Thx for the update!
Thank you vexed scans for the release!
@Gnah,
I could be wrong of course. But rather than a nail that needed being hit it's more like she saw a freak wearing a child's skin. Some kind of monster.
